How to Downgrade Your Amazon Seller Account in 5 Steps (July 2025 Update)

Navigating Amazon’s constantly changing platform can feel like a battle, especially when it comes to choosing the right selling plan. Whether you’re facing decreased sales, a change in business strategy, or simply looking to save on monthly fees (like aged or low inventory surcharge fees), downgrading your Amazon account is a viable option.

We recently noticed a change (June 2025) in how to downgrade from a Professional to an Individual seller account on the Seller Central platform.

We’ve included the most recent update below, followed by the older one for those whose accounts haven’t yet changed.

How to change your selling plan on Amazon (July 2025)

1. Log into your Amazon Seller Account.

2. In the top right of Seller Central, click on the gear icon (settings) and select “Account Info”.

3. Under the “Manage Your Services” section, select “Selling On Amazon”:

4. Open the list of marketplaces by clicking on the small downward-facing arrow next to “Selling on Amazon”. Select the “Individual” plan for all the marketplaces you want to downgrade, careful not to miss the different Amazon regions like “Americas”, “Europe”, “Asia”, “Oceania”, “South America”, or “Middle East”.

5. When you’re ready, click the “Apply changes button”. You’ll usually have until the end of the month you’ve already paid for until the selling plan changes take effect.

How to change your selling plan on Amazon (old workflow)

1. Log into your Amazon Seller Account.

2. In the top right of Seller Central, click on the gear icon (settings) and select “Account Info”.

3. Under the “Your Services” section, select “Manage”.

4. Below the “You are signed up for” section (which usually appears at the top), select “Downgrade”.

5. Read the warning and, if it’s not a problem, hit “Proceed”. You’ll usually have until the end of the month you’ve already paid for until the selling plan changes take effect.
